Both teams to score (BTTS) is a bet on whether each side scores at least once. Back yes and you need a 1-1, 2-1, 3-2 or any other score where neither team finishes on zero. Back no and you win if either team fails to score, 0-0 included. Who wins the match doesn't matter.
How BTTS bets are settled
- Normal time only. The bet is settled on 90 minutes plus stoppage time. Goals in extra time and penalty shootouts don't count unless the market says so.
- Own goals count. The market is settled on the score, so an own goal counts for the team it is credited to.
- Abandoned and postponed matches are usually void, but rules differ between bookmakers, especially when both teams had already scored before an abandonment. Check the terms.
Reading BTTS odds

What to check before backing yes or no
- Scoring and conceding records for both teams, split home and away. A side that scores freely at home can struggle on the road.
- Clean sheets: one strong defence is enough to beat a yes bet.
- Team news: a missing striker lowers a team's chance of scoring; a missing goalkeeper or centre-back raises the other side's.
- Match state: a heavy favourite that scores early may sit back, while a side that needs a result keeps attacking.
- Expected goals (xG) for and against, which show whether recent scorelines were deserved.
BTTS combinations
